Councilman Walt Scherer "You have brought the highest ethical standards to our town, and to our community.  Your presence has made a difference in preserving open space, promoting our downtown and creating a transparent government.  You truly walk-the-talk, and I really appreciate what you are doing on the Loomis Town Council.

Your representation has meant that for the first time in our 25 year history, we are planting trees and preserving the open space that we incorporated to protect.

Over the past 25 years, many people have run for town council promising to keep it a small town, preserve open space and revitalize our downtown.  In the short four years that you have been on the council, we have addressed all three issues in substantive ways.  We have earned the respect of neighboring elected officials, adopted and funded the downtown Master Plan that both builds on our small town character and promotes the vitality of the downtown business district,  and this year we actually acquired a ten-acre open space preserve…the first natural open space in Loomis that is truly and honestly “preserved”.

Congratulations and good luck.  I am proud to be counted as one of your supporters."
Councilman Walt Scherer

"I would consider it a 'gift' to the Town of Loomis to have a council member with the tremendous amount of environmentally friendly city planning experience that Gary Liss possesses."   Janice Herrmann
